Virtual Private Servers (VPS) offer flexibility, scalability, and control for hosting your applications, websites, or other digital services. However, there may come a time when you need to relocate your VPS to a different geographic region. This can be to improve latency for users in a specific region, meet regulatory or compliance requirements, or optimize server performance.
Although the location of your Virtual Private Server (VPS) cannot be changed directly, you can reinstall it in a new location as an alternative.
Important: Reinstalling your VPS in a new location will permanently delete all existing data. To avoid losing important information, ensure you create and download a full backup via SFTP before proceeding.
To reinstall your VPS in a new location, follow these steps:
Navigate to the VPS section of your management panel and select the specific server you wish to relocate.
Locate the VPS settings and click the pen icon to edit the location and initiate the reinstallation process.
Select the preferred server location from the dropdown. Note the warning regarding data loss. When all is good to go, click on Next to initiate the reinstall at the new location.
