Why Does the Number of Inodes Stay the Same After Removing Files or Folders?

Learn what to do if the number of inodes doesn't change after deleting files or folders

Updated over a week ago

After deleting files or folders, you can check your hosting plan's latest inode count by navigating to Websites → Dashboard, and searching for Resources Usage on the left sidebar:

On the Resources Usage page, the chart on the right illustrates the current amount of inodes:

If the number of inodes stays the same after removing some files or folders, click on Recalculate usage:

Alternatively, you can check the inode count per each directory using the File Manager or SSH.

As your project expands, you can consider upgrading your hosting plan for an increased inode limit 🚀
