To use your domain for Hostinger Email, follow these steps to add the necessary records to your domain's DNS zone. You can choose to either watch the video guide or proceed with the instructions below:
Step 1 – Locate Your Domain's DNS Zone
If your domain points to Hostinger via NS records, all the required MX, SPF, and DKIM records are added automatically. The DMARC record needs to be added manually
If you use Hostinger Email with a subdomain, you'll need to add the required records manually in all cases. Just remember to replace the "@" host value with the name of your subdomain 💡
Step 2 – Configure Email Records
Navigate to the Emails section of hPanel and click on Manage next to the domain name:
From there, access Connect domain in the sidebar. Navigate through each tab to find the default Hostinger Email DNS record values:
Receive emails - MX records
Protect your reputation - SPF, must be entered as a TXT record type
Increase email deliverability - DKIM, must be entered as a CNAME record type
Obtain the required values for each by navitaging to the Expected records and clicking on the copy icon:
Then use them to create the new records on your domain's DNS Zone. If any previous records of these types exist, remove them, retaining only the Hostinger Email values to prevent conflicts.
We strongly recommend the addition of a DMARC record to your domain for enhanced security and email authentication.
After adding these records, your email will start working within the next 24 hours once propagation is completed.
Step 3 – Verify the Email Records
After the records have propagated, navigate to the Connect domian section and click on Check again:
Verifying the records will ensure that they are properly set up.
