CentOS is one of the OS templates available for our VPS plans, you can choose it while setting up your VPS for the first time or change it later anytime.

A VPS with 2GB RAM is recommended for CentOS to be smooth. Enabling mod_security is not recommended with CentOS unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing.

CentOS can be installed automatically by choosing CentOS 7 64bit with CentOS Panel within hPanel. In case you wish to go with manual installation, you may want to check this article.

Logging in

Once you got your VPS running with CentOS panel you will be able to log in via http://your_vps_ip:2030 or https://your_vps_ip:2031 (this will require you to accept an untrusted SSL certificate).

The default login details will be as follows:

Username: root

Password: your root password

When logged in, complete an initial setup for the CentOS and that’s it!

Now you know how to get CentOS up and running 😊
