The mod_gzip and mod_deflate modules are enabled by default. You will only need to enable gzip with a plugin or by adding some lines of code to your .htaccess file.
If you are using Cloudflare, gzip compression will be provided by Cloudflare automatically while also including any gzip settings you may have already added to your website.
