Understanding the importance of domain verification

Why is Domain Verification Required?

The Internet authority on domain names, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Name and Numbers), requires confirming the validity of the email address on the domain's owner contact details.

Therefore, domains must be verified within the first 15 days after purchase, transfer, or a change in the contact details. If verification is not completed in time, the domain will get suspended and stop working temporarily until verified.

How to Verify a Domain

After completing a new domain registration, a verification message from Hostinger Domains is sent to the email address specified in the domain contact details.

In case you did not receive it, navigate to the Domains tab, and open the domain:

Next, click on Resend verification email:

Next, click on the link in the message, you will be redirected to a verification page similar to the following. Once there, click Verify:

Give it up to 15 minutes for the changes to be applied. If the domain verification still appears as pending after that time, you can update the status on your panel by clicking on the Check status button:

That's it, your domain is now verified 😊
