How to Change Your Domain Contact Details

Editing the contact details of a domain purchased at Hostinger

Updated yesterday

You can modify the contact details of a domain at any time from your panel. Just go to the Domains section of your Hostinger account and click on Manage next to the domain you wish to perform changes to:

The Domains section on Hostinger Members Area showing how to access the domain management options

Open the Domain Ownership tab, and choose the type of contact details you want to change:

  • Registrant Contact - the owner of the domain

  • Administrative Contact - main manager of the domain

  • Billing Contact - person in charge of domain-related payments

  • Technical Contact - webmaster or IT department

Then, click on Change contacts:

The Domain Ownership section showing how to update the domain's contact details

Once there, select Create New Profile:

The Create New Profile option for updating the domain contact details

Fill in all the details with valid data and click on Create profile:

The contact details form to create a new profile

Once created, you will be asked to use this profile. We recommend ticking the checkbox to use the profile for all domain contacts, then click on Use contact:

The confirmation window showing how to use the same profile for all domain contacts (registrant, administrative, billing & technical)

Next, you will receive a verification message to your domain's registered email address requesting to approve the change. If you are updating the email address as well, the message will be sent to both the current and the new addresses.

Changes will only be applied after you have verified them via email - make sure to check your spam folder as well 💡

NOTES

  • If domain privacy is disabled, it might take up to 24 hours for the updated details to be visible on WHOIS

  • Some domain extensions do not allow the editing of certain fields or contact details through hPanel. For .es domains, check this guide: How to Change Domain Contact Details for .es Domains. For other TLDs, contact us and we will help you
