Transferring a domain between Hostinger accounts

Updated over a week ago

If you have two Hostinger accounts and need to move your domain from one to another, follow these steps 👇

Moving a domain between Hostinger accounts will not move your website files, databases, emails, or other related services. Only the domain name is moved 💡

Step 1 – Preparations

Before you begin:

  • Verify whether the top-level domain (TLD) of the domain you wish to transfer is one of the following:

    • A generic top-level domain (gTLD) such as .com, .net, .org, etc.

    • One of these specific country-code TLDs (ccTLDs): .in or

  • Check if your domain hasn't been transferred between Hostinger accounts within the past 10 days

If these requirements are met, proceed to the next step.

Step 2 – Initiate the Domain Move

Open the Domains section, then open the Transfers tab on the left sidebar, and click on Move domain to another Hostinger account:

Next, enter the destination email and click on Confirm:

You can cancel the domain move before the new owner confirms it by clicking on the Cancel button:

Step 3 – Confirm the Domain Move

To confirm the domain move, go to the Domains section of the new account's hPanel and click on Accept.

Enter the new domain contact details and click on Finish registration.

Once you change the domain owner details, you may receive a verification message to both the current and new email addresses; the domain move will be performed once the email address change is verified.

After the domain move is completed, the domain will be owned and managed from the new account.

  • Domain was moved less than 10 days ago — domains can be moved once every 10 days; in this case, wait for the 10 days period to pass and attempt to move the domain again

  • If your domain ccTLD is other than .in or, first, update the domain owner's contact details to match the new account:

    • If you receive a verification message to either or both of the current and new email addresses, make sure to confirm it

    • After updating the domain owner's contact details, get in touch with our Customer Success team, and we will assist you in moving the domain
