What to do if your hosting plan becomes inactive

Understand the causes behind inactive hosting plans and discover the available options to reactivate your services.

Updated over a week ago

There can be a few reasons why your hosting plan may appear inactive and your websites aren't loading as expected. In this article, we'll cover the main scenarios—expired, canceled, and suspended plans—and the steps you can take in each case.

It's always a good idea to check our status page for any ongoing maintenance 💡

Expired

If you encounter a message similar to the one below on your hPanel homepage :

The notification of expired hosting on the home page of hPanel.

It means your hosting plan has expired due to non-payment. As a result, your websites will stop working, and you won’t be able to manage them—only the add website, tag and delete options will remain available.

To restore access, you can renew your hosting plan, and services will resume as soon as the payment is fully processed.

Canceled

If your hosting plan was canceled due to non-payment and expired less than 30 days ago, you still have the option to restore it. After 30 days, the plan is permanently deleted and cannot be renewed or restored. In that case, you can purchase a new hosting plan and recreate your website if needed.

Suspended

If your hosting plan has been suspended, it won’t appear on the hPanel homepage, and the Websites section will display a related warning:

The notification that a hosting plan is suspended on hPanel.

This type of suspension occurs if a violation of our Terms of Service is detected. In this case, the websites will stop working, and you won’t be able to add, manage, tag, or delete them. If you believe this is an error or need further details, click the Contact Us button as shown on the image above, or go to the Help page on hPanel.
