Normally, you would create subdomains this way: How to Create and Delete Subdomains.
However, if your root domain (domain.tld) is linked to a website created with Hostinger Website Builder, you should create a subdomain (subdomain.domain.tld) directly in your domain's DNS zone. There are two ways to do that: by creating an A record or a CNAME record.
Option 1 – Create an A Record
Use this option if you want to point the subdomain to an IP address 💡
Go to your domain's DNS zone and create an A record:
DNS record type: A
Name: your subdomain's name; e.g., for shop.domain.tld, you need to input shop
Points to: the IP address
TTL: the preferred or the default value
Finally, click on Add Record. The DNS propagation will start, and once it's over, your subdomain will start working.
Once you create the subdomain, you can add it as a website this way: How to Add a Website 💡
Option 2 – Create a CNAME Record
Use this option if you want to point the subdomain to a web address or Hostinger Website Builder in particular 💡
Go to your domain's DNS zone and create a CNAME record:
DNS record type: CNAME
Name: your subdomain's name; e.g., for shop.domain.tld, you need to input shop
Points to: the web address; e.g., to point to Hostinger Website Builder, insert connect.hostinger.com
TTL: the preferred or the default value
Finally, click on Add Record. The DNS propagation will start, and once it's over, your subdomain will start working.
