Transferring your domain to Hostinger is a great solution for managing all your services in one place! To do so, follow the steps below 👇
Step 1 – Check-up before you start the transfer
Before initiating a domain transfer, make sure that:
Check your domain's extension (TLD). We have prepared specific guides for .br domains, .lt domains, and .uk domains.
You have full ownership and control of the domain name you want to transfer to us
60 days have passed since the domain was registered at (or transferred to) the current domain provider.
The domain is active: not suspended by the registry and not in the redemption period
You have a valid EPP/Auth code from your current registrar (or an authorization code for .eu domains).
Ensure DNSSEC is disabled. You can verify your DNSSEC status using the DNSSEC Checker tool.
Since domain transfers can take a few days, it's best to start the transfer when your domain has at least 7 days left before it expires.
Step 2 – Initiate the transfer
To initiate the transfer, follow these steps:
Unlock your domain from the current registrar.
Open the Hostinger Transfer Domain page (or Transfer Domain if you already have a Hostinger account).
Insert your domain name and click on Transfer.
Proceed with the payment.
Enter the EPP code.
Choose whether you want to keep your current nameservers or use Hostinger nameservers and initiate the transfer. You will also have the option to keep your current records if you choose Hostinger nameservers.
After completing your order, the domain transfer process will begin. You'll receive an email about the transfer — be sure to confirm it.
NOTES
If your domain has a generic TLD such as .com, .net, etc., it will be renewed for one year after the transfer.
Country-code TLDs, such as .uk, .es, .com.br, etc., are not renewed as part of the transfer.

What to do if you get an error?
If you encounter an error message during the domain transfer order, refer to the table below:
Error message | What to do? |
Seems like this domain is available for registry. Would you like to register it? | The domain you inserted is currently not registered by anyone. Make sure to check the spelling; there might be a typo. Once the domain name is correct, you can proceed with the purchase. |
Domain is locked and cannot be transferred. | The domain is still locked on the registrar's part. If you unlocked your domain recently, it might take up to a couple of hours for the change to take place. |
Sorry, this top-level domain cannot be transferred to Hostinger at the moment. | We currently don't support this TLD. No worries, you still can use this domain at Hostinger by pointing it to our servers. |
When should you change nameservers?
Nameservers control where your DNS Zone is managed. During the domain transfer, which usually takes up to 7 days, nameservers are locked and can't be changed.
You have two options during the transfer:
Use Hostinger nameservers and DNS records: Choose this option if you want to host files, use emails, and see all updates to your website hosted at Hostinger, even while the transfer is in progress.
Use Hostinger nameservers and keep current DNS records: Select this option if you want to switch to Hostinger nameservers but keep your current DNS records. This is useful to keep current services on other providers running, like email or hosting, during the transfer.
Keep current nameservers: Select this if you're okay with the domain pointing elsewhere during the transfer. You can update the nameservers after the transfer is complete.
