Learn how to change a website template using Hostinger Website Builder

Updated over a week ago

If you use Hostinger Website Builder and want to change the website template, there are two options: you can change the template or create a new website.

The only difference is that if you use the Change template option, your current website content will be permanently deleted, and you'll need to recreate it on the new template manually. To be on the safe side, we recommend you publish the current website. This way, you'll be able to restore a backup if anything goes wrong after changing the template. Alternatively, you may also duplicate the original website.

Changing the Template

This way, all your current website content will be lost when installing a new template 💡

In the Websites section, find the site in question, click on the ellipsis ⋯ button and select Change template:

Read the disclaimer, mark the checkbox and click on Change template again to confirm. You'll be redirected to the templates page, where you can preview and choose whichever you like. Alternatively, you may use our AI-powered website builder.

Creating a New Website

This way, the current website content will remain in the original template, and you will be able to select a new template while creating a new website 💡

In the Websites section, find the site in question, and click on Edit website. Then, within the editor, click on Website Builder in the top left and select Create new website:

Then, you can either use our AI Website Builder or go with the predesigned templates. Whichever option you choose, you'll find a new website added in the Websites section.

The newly created website will be connected to a preview domain – example.builder-preview.com – you can replace it with your preferred domain name anytime!
